Our Ministry

Our Mission:
In collaboration with SOMWorship (501c3 non-profit) and DEPIII Music Group & Studios (S-Corporation) the City Light Collective is the legacy project (or Kingdom work/ministry) of singer/songwriter/producer David Parsons III. We are a listener-supported music label and media production/publishing company focused on writing, recording, releasing, marketing, and performing original, Christ-focused content. We distribute music as singles and in album format using social media and streaming platforms to promote the Gospel and Biblically inspired themes. As we cultivate an organic following and our discography of original music/media grows, we seek to form an anointed team to perform songs written, recorded, and produced by the City Light Collective live, in-person at churches and at events around the globe. Through individual support and corporate sponsors, the sales/streaming revenue of our music/media, profits from merchandise reinvested, and a network of churches/venues across the world, we will offer performances free to attendees in “worship night” fashion - lifting guests in unity through music and sharing the message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ through powerful, authentic, encouraging testimony. In doing so, we hope to create a worldwide Christian production/publishing company centered on the symbol of light and the life/ministry of Jesus; ultimately leading people to the family of Christ as sincere, lifelong followers of Jesus.
Our Brand Logo & Emblem:
Our logo is written in Greek and reads: “πόλη φως”.
Translated to English, it means: “City of Light” or “Light City”
• πόλη = city
• φως = light
Our brand's emblem is a vintage candlelit lamppost symbolizing the warmth and draw of a candle flickering in the cold, desolate emptiness of darkness - a clear lit path in the midst of night like the mysterious beckoning of Jesus upon a wandering, restless soul.
Guiding Verses:
Matthew 4:14-16 - “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”
Proverbs 3:3-10 - “Let not steadfast love and faithfulness forsake you; bind them around your neck; write them on the tablet of your heart. So you will find favor and good success in the sight of God and man. Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. Be not wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord, and turn away from evil. It will be healing to your flesh and refreshment to your bones. Honor the Lord with your wealth and with the first fruits of all your produce; then your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will be bursting with wine.”
Matthew 14:14-21 - “When Jesus landed and saw a large crowd, he had compassion on them and healed their sick. As evening approached, the disciples came to him and said, ‘This is a remote place, and it’s already getting late. Send the crowds away, so they can go to the villages and buy themselves some food.’ Jesus replied, ‘They do not need to go away. You give them something to eat.’ ‘We have here only five loaves of bread and two fish,’ they answered. ‘Bring them here to me,’ he said. And he directed the people to sit down on the grass. Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke the loaves. Then he gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the people. They all ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over. The number of those who ate was about five thousand men, besides women and children.”
Financial Stewardship & Self-Sustained Growth:
We are intentional about creating ways to become self-sustained at the City Light Collective.
We achieve financial stewardship through the following strategies:
1.) Re-investing YouTube ad revenue
2.) Re-investing revenue from our online music/media streaming platforms/stores
3.) Re-investing revenue from our brand apparel/merchandise sold
4.) Re-investing financial support from listeners partnering with us to make one-time and monthly financial gifts
5.) Re-investing financial support from corporate sponsorships secured with like-minded brands
All financial proceeds will go to the production/publishing of our music/media, purchase of music equipment/gear, live concert sound engineering/quality, travel accommodations for the performing singers/musicians/band, and fees to properly pay studio musicians and partners so that they can continue to dedicate their time and talent to recording and marketing of original music/media for the City Light Collective.
Note on Fundraising:
It is our commitment to never have to do a fundraiser. For this reason we will never openly solicit donations or financial support during our events. We seek to be 100% self-sufficient and we want the Holy Spirit to direct people to partner with us financially as they feel led so that excellence and the quality of our content is the thing that leads our brand/inspiration and not our bottom line. We are interested most in the testimonies of authentic change and want to leave room for the Lord pivot, shift, and change our direction without feeling the pressure of funding. We will go at the pace the Lord leads and we are confident the Lord will fully fund the projects and endeavors He desires for us to take part in and that He wills to advance. We promise to do our best to steward those and move the mission forward as He guides us.
Organizational Tithe:
As a part of our guiding principles, we set aside 10% of all donations to be used specifically to bless non-stipend or non-paid/non-salaried, volunteer-based worship leaders and musicians as well as every day gigging musicians/sings we discover as we are out and about. We wish to bless them financially in unexpected ways and in unassuming situations - after a midnight gig during their weekly grind. Between services on tour etc. We will set this amount to be placed in an ear-noted savings account and distribute as needed/seen-fit.
